Aria needs to find her mother and Perry needs to find his nephew, who was kidnapped while under his watch. However they find that they both need each other to survive and to find what they are looking for. When they first meet that is what they see in each other. Outsiders are just savages and cannibals and Dwellers are lazy and entitled. Dwellers and Outsiders have been taught to see the worst traits in each other. This is where she runs into Perry, one of the Outsiders. She is then kicked out of the pod and banished to the "Death Shop" otherwise known as the outside world. In trying to obtain some information she gets caught breaking a rule. When a Dweller named Aria can not contact her mother, who is doing research in another Pod, she becomes concerned and tries to find out what has happened to her. However the Aether has also played with the Outsiders genetic makeup giving some of them special powers with their senses, such as the ability to detect when and where an Aether strike is going to happen. The Outsiders have returned to a more primitive society where people live in tribes and are fighting just to survive. The Outsiders live outdoors in the real world and technology is almost nonexistent. This is actually where they spend all their time and usually only interact with one another inside these virtual worlds. Since they live in confined spaces they use virtual reality devices known as "Smarteyes" to travel to other places known as "Realms". The Dwellers deal with the storms by living inside enclosed cities known as "Pods" where technology is a part of everyday life. The population has divided into Dwellers and Outsiders. The story takes place in the future where there are dangerous energy storms know as "Aether Storms". It sounded interesting enough and with the refund guarantee, I figured why not? Thanks to her I found another great series. Then she told me that since it was "her pick" that the store offers a full refund if you buy it, read it, and don't like it. She gave me a brief synopsis of what it was about. She likes to make other fans of this genre aware of this series, as it doesn't seem to have the general awareness that The Hunger Games, Divergent or Maze Runner do. She is a fan of the young adult dystopian genre and that the Under the Never Sky series is actually her favorite. She told me that any time she sees someone with a Divergent series book in their hands, she likes to tell them about the Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi. When a young sales lady saw it in my hand she approached me, asking if she could make a recommendation for me.
